1. Is the license for multiple bikes?
No. One license is intended for one bike.
After activation, the code is assigned to a specific bike and cannot be used to unlock another bike. If you have multiple bikes, you need a separate license for each one.
2. How much does the license cost?
This is a one-time purchase of a license code. The current price is always available on the product page at speedchipshop.shop.
3. Is the license valid indefinitely?
Yes. The license is valid indefinitely and remains assigned to your bike. There is no monthly subscription or need to renew the license.
4. Can the license be uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times?
Yes. You can deactivate the tuning and then reactivate it on the same bike through your browser. There is no need to install or remove a physical chip.
5. Where can I find the license code?
You will receive the license code after purchase, along with a message containing installation instructions. The key is at the bottom of the second email. During activation, enter the entire code exactly as received, including hyphens. Also check your inbox yourself if you haven't received an email.
6. The bike does not reach the set speed. Why?
Occasionally, some configurations may not reach the maximum speed. This is due to the system configuration of the bike in question. Also reduce the wheel circumference setting in the Flow app to the minimum.
7. Is the speed shown on the display accurate?
USA 33-34 km/h – Bosch Smart gen 4-5 - YES
45 km/h – Bosch Smart Gen 4 - NO.
45 km/h – Bosch Smart Gen 5- YES
45 km/h – Bosch Gen 1-4- NO
In the 45 km/h configuration for Gen 4 Smart, the Bosch Flow app may still show a maximum setting of 32 km/h. This does not mean that the 45 km/h configuration is inactive; on the contrary—check the GPS measurement.
8. Does SpeedChip SOFT work with BOSCH Generation 5?
Yes. SpeedChip SOFT is compatible with BOSCH Smart System Gen 4 and Gen 5, including compatible firmware versions with an update to 120 Nm.
9. Can I perform BOSCH updates after installing the tuning?
SpeedChip SOFT works with current compatible versions of BOSCH Smart System firmware. However, we do not recommend performing new system updates.
10. Can I still use the Bosch eBike Flow app?
Yes. After activating SpeedChip SOFT, you can still use the Bosch eBike Flow app. In the USA 34-45 km/h version, after tuning, set the maximum available pedal assist speed in the Flow app.
11. 25 / 34 / 45 km/h – which speed should I choose?
25 km/h – the factory setting for a European electric bike.
33-34 km/h USA – SOFT with an actual speed display.
45 km/h – the version for a higher S-Pedelec motor assist limit.
